Highway to Hell(p)
You don’t know why you just woke up. You don’t understand why you would ever set your alarm for 7am the morning after Fiji RAVE. You head towards your alarm clock on the other side of the room, moving your purple pilgrim to press the off button and stop that awful beeping. Upon shutting off your clock it hits you, the reason you are awake this early is because you’ve got some highway to clean.
It has become somewhat of a Fiji tradition to participate in a highway cleanup the morning after RAVE. This year a group of pledges and actives sported some yellow safety vests (safety being one of the priorities of a Fiji- right after “Scholarship” but before “Fraternity” and “Foosball”) and stared down 2 miles of county road armed with trash bags and rubber gloves. The group worked a hard few hours to make sure their strip was in tip top condition before packing up their trash, posing for a group picture, and heading back to Drake. Maybe next semester we can go build a house the day after Island?
